Basketball Recap: Corde Harrison Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Mountain Island Charter

There's no place like home for Sugar Creek Charter, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They secured a 77-72 W over the Mountain Island Charter Raptors on Tuesday. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 59-55 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sugar Creek Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Corde Harrison, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 19 points and three steals. Harrison's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimani Lewis, who posted 14 points.

Mountain Island Charter's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyle Bridgewater, who scored 15 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Ayden Donaldson, who went 6-for-13 en route to 14 points.

Sugar Creek Charter moved to 2-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Mountain Island Charter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Sugar Creek Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 79-40 loss against Queen's Grant on the 12th. As for Mountain Island Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-62 win against East Gaston on the 11th.
