Basketball Recap: KIPP Legacy Gets the Win

KIPP Legacy's tournament run continued when they took on North Decatur on Tuesday. The Lions came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 62-50. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

KIPP Legacy had a senior duo take command as Shalon Robinson shot 50% from the field on his way to 18 points and seven steals and Nate Bell went 7-for-10 en route to 20 points and six rebounds. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for Robinson. Adrian Montgomery was another key player, putting up nine points.

Despite the loss, North Decatur still got an impressive performance from Logan O'Dell, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 18 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Kunz, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

KIPP Legacy's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for North Decatur, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

KIPP Legacy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-63 win against Buckeye on the 30th. As for North Decatur, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-60 victory against Beech Grove on the 30th.
