Football Recap: Walton-Verona Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Walton-Verona's offense. They were outmatched by the Beechwood Tigers and fell 69-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Walton-Verona's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Beechwood, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Walton-Verona will head out to face off against Gallatin County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.17 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Beechwood, they will challenge St. Henry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
