Softball Recap: Singer Hornets vs. Hackberry Mustangs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Starks, Singer was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-15 win over the Hackberry Mustangs. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
For Hackberry's part, Kynlin Moore led a balanced group of hitters, going 4-for-5 with three runs, a triple, and two RBI. Velle Devall was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Singer's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Hackberry, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Singer will face off against South Cameron at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Singer is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for Hackberry, they will head out on the road to take on Pickering at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
