Softball Preview: Arvada Bulldogs vs. Fort Lupton Bluedevils
Arvada hasn't had much luck against Fort Lupton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Arvada Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Fort Lupton Bluedevils at 6:00 p.m. Fort Lupton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Arvada, who comes in off a win.
Arvada will head into Friday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Adams City. The victory was familiar territory for the Bulldogs who have now won three games in a row.
Alyssa Moreno spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive pitching appearances.
