Basketball Recap: Community Christian Takes a Loss

Community Christian was the 52-29 winner over Spring Baptist Academy when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Community Christian Lions fell to the Spring Baptist Academy Royals 46-40.

Despite the defeat, Community Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Levi Hinton dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. What's more, Hinton also posted a 58% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Levi Samuel, who posted four points in addition to nine rebounds and eight blocks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Spring Baptist Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tommy Wright, who scored 15 points and five boards. Jaxton Doelitsch was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Community Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Spring Baptist Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-6.

Community Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-51 defeat against Faith Christian on the 7th. As for Spring Baptist Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 42-32 loss against True North on the 6th.
