Volleyball Recap: Silverado Falls Short Against Ranked Foothill

Silverado faced Foothill in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Skyhawks lost 3-0 to the Falcons. The defeat continues a trend for the Skyhawks in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost five in a row.

While Silverado was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-17, 25-17.

Anthony Jackson paced Silverado's offense, picking up five kills. Jackson got some help from Skyler Pangelinan and his 11 assists. Finally, Jackson was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Foothill was led to victory by Evan Anderson and Jayden Ellizar-Keiki. Anderson had 12 digs, while Ellizar-Keiki had nine digs and two aces. Ellizar-Keiki is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 16 or more in each of the last ten games he's played.

Silverado's loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Foothill, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-13.

Silverado wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Coronado on the 23rd. As for Foothill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Arbor View on the 24th.
