Brooklyn Davis posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. She struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Davis' strong effort led Coalinga over Firebaugh and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Horned Toads are a perfect 10-0 against the Eagles going back to May of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
