Basketball Game Preview: Coolidge Colts vs. Western Albemarle Warriors

The Coolidge Colts will face off against the Western Albemarle Warriors at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. Coolidge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Western Albemarle likes a good challenge.

Coolidge will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Dunbar, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Coolidge took their contest on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 57-8 win over Dunbar. With the Colts ahead 37-4 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Coolidge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marshea Fisher, who posted nine points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Josslyn Derricott, who had ten points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, Western Albemarle was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against Charlottesville, falling 46-25. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Black Knights: they've now lost seven in a row.

Western Albemarle's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1. As for Coolidge, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
