Basketball Recap: Macon-East Montgomery Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Edgewood Academy

Macon-East Montgomery Academy scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 69-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edgewood Academy Wildcats. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (58), the Knights still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Macon-East Montgomery Academy lost, don't look at Jamiyah Powell. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 41 points and 21 rebounds. Powell's afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Miya Tatum, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Macon-East Montgomery Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in ten consecutive contests.
