Baseball Game Preview: Don Lugo Conquistadores vs. Chaffey Tigers

For the second straight game, Don Lugo will face off against Chaffey. The Conquistadores will head out to take on the Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Don Lugo will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Don Lugo is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 17-6 margin over Chaffey on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Conquistadores, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Bryan Scott was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Ishmael Fox was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Don Lugo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in three consecutive games.

Don Lugo pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Chaffey, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.
