Basketball Recap: Shishmaref Takes a Loss

Shishmaref suffered their biggest defeat since January 17th on Friday. They came up short against the Tikigaq Harpooners, falling 69-48. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Northern Lights came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Harpooners are ranked 100th).

Shishmaref dropped their record down to 9-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Tikigaq, their victory bumped their record up to 2-9.

Shishmaref has already played their next contest (against Buckland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tikigaq does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
