Basketball Game Preview: Martin Falcons vs. Springfield Gardens Golden Eagles

For the first time this season, Martin will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to square off against the Springfield Gardens Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Falcons fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Saturday's season opener. They walked away with a 56-49 win over Robeson Business Tech on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Springfield Gardens took care of business in their home opener two weeks ago. They strolled past Beach Channel with points to spare, taking the game 56-40. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Martin lost to Springfield Gardens on the road by a decisive 68-51 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
