Basketball Recap: Nokomis Starts Season with Win Against Litchfield

Nokomis had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down the Litchfield Purple Panthers 61-46 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Redskins in their matchups with the Purple Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nokomis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kinley Stolte, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards. Stolte is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 53% in the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Hannah Tarter, who went 5-for-10 en route to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Nokomis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 45-18 victory against Greenfield/Northwestern on the 20th. As for Litchfield, they have also already played their next contest, a 58-21 defeat against Brownstown/St. Elmo on the 20th.
