Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Sandia

On Friday, Santa Fe faced Sandia in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Santa Fe Demons received a blow as they fell 80-65 to the Sandia Matadors. The Demons haven't had much luck with the Matadors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Thomas Adams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sandia, almost dropping a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Adams is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Brown, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 17 points along with five assists and five boards.

Santa Fe's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Sandia, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.
