Academy of International Studies extended their winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Angie Zuluaga- Gonzalez. The Dragons came out on top against the Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Tigers by a score of 3-1 on Monday for which the team can thank Zuluaga- Gonzalez, who had 34 digs and four aces. Zuluaga- Gonzalez is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.

The win didn't come easy: Sports & Medical Sciences Academy scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 18-25, 27-25, 25-23.

Academy of International Studies' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lisa Weinberg led the charge by getting five aces and four digs. Another player making a difference was Olivia Stewart, who had 16 digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Academy of International Studies was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why Sports & Medical Sciences Academy lost, don't look at Valerie Santiago. Despite the final result, she had 27 digs and one assist.

Academy of International Studies' record now sits at 19-3. As for Sports & Medical Sciences Academy, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8.
