Basketball Recap: Murphy Piles Up the Points Against Mcgill-Toolen

Murphy hadn't done well against McGill-Toolen recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Panthers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Yellowjackets 71-41. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Kinley Simmons was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-9 to rack up 20 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Deshawn Sanders, who shot 50% from the field en route to 16 points.

Murphy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.
