Basketball Recap: Calvary Academy Takes a Loss

Calvary Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 61-24 defeat at the hands of The Pilgrim Academy Pioneers. The Warrior were down 46-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Leading The Pilgrim Academy to victory were Jared McGonagle and Kai Conley. McGonagle went 7 of 12 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds, while Conley went 7 for 15 en route to 15 points along with five boards and three steals. Those 15 points gave Conley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Parmer, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Calvary Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for The Pilgrim Academy, their record is now 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Academy will take on Atlantic Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Atlantic Christian will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Calvary Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for The Pilgrim Academy, they will challenge Gloucester County Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pilgrim Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.
