Baseball Game Preview: Monsignor Pace Spartans vs. Miami Beach Hi-Tides

Monsignor Pace is a perfect 3-0 against Miami Beach since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Spartans will look to defend their home field against the Hi-Tides at 6:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Monsignor Pace is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Hialeah Educational Academy.

Aiden Rivero was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Robert Kramer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Miami Beach came up short against Southridge on Monday, falling 8-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Hi-Tides in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.

Miami Beach also got a good showing from Jon Solowitz, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Miami Beach saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lenonx Munoz, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Miami Beach's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Monsignor Pace, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Monsignor Pace skirted past Miami Beach 5-4 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hi-Tides turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
