Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Armstrong

Armstrong made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Blue Devils on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Armstrong got a massive performance out of Ryan Edwards, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave Edwards a new career-high. Carter Freeman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Armstrong's record now sits at 8-2. As for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Armstrong will face off against rival Cissna Park at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Trojans' favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Timberwolves have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin is set to square off against their familiar foe Westville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
