Softball Game Preview: Hoover Cardinals vs. High Tech SD Storm

The Hoover Cardinals will challenge the High Tech SD Storm at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Hoover and three for High Tech SD.

Hoover lost 27-21 to Kearny on Wednesday. Even if the Cardinals couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Hoover got a massive performance out of Izel Somarriba, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was Somarriba's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Yazmyne Rodriguez, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, High Tech SD came up short against Bonsall on Tuesday, falling 10-2.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for High Tech SD, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
