Baseball Recap: Devon Prep Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Devon Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Archmere Academy Auks on Saturday. The Tide's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Caleb Flannery was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephen Land, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Devon Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Archmere Academy, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Devon Prep will face off against Lansdale Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Archmere Academy, they will venture away from home to take on St. Elizabeth at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
