Softball Recap: Bastrop Triumphs

Bastrop was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Little River Academy Bumblebees. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted since February 27, 2025.

Lanie Coy was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kara Spurlock, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Bastrop's win bumped their record up to 2-3-1. As for Little River Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Bastrop will challenge Saginaw at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Little River Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Marble Falls at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
