Baseball Recap: St. Mary's Gets the Win

St. Mary came out on top against Bishop Timon-St. Jude on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Lancers took their matchup against the Tigers 7-3. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Alex Abreu was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Matt Arcara was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Camden Grabowski also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

St. Mary's record is now 8-3. As for Bishop Timon-St. Jude, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

St. Mary's has already played their next game, a 5-4 win against Nichols on the 8th. As for Bishop Timon-St. Jude, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-0 defeat against St. Francis on the 8th.
