Basketball Recap: Josiah Rice's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bunn over Wake Forest

It was a proper cat-fight when Bunn took on Wake Forest on Saturday. The Wildcats lost to the Cougars on the road by a 57-39 margin. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2021.

Bunn lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Josiah Rice, who posted 12 points. DJ Smith was another key player, putting up ten points.

Palmer Chase was his usual excellent self, shooting 89% from the field en route to 21 points along with seven boards and four steals for Wake Forest. Thanks to that strong game, Chase now owns an excellent 42.2% three-point shooting accuracy. Liam Simons also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bunn fell to 3-1. As for Wake Forest, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bunn will challenge Warren County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wake Forest, they will square off against J.F. Webb at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
