Carbondale has gone 9-1 against Cahokia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Carbondale Terriers will venture away from home to challenge the Cahokia Comanches at 1:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Carbondale and five for Cahokia.

Last Tuesday, Carbondale came up short against Murphysboro and fell 49-40. While losing is never fun, the Terriers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Red Devils are ranked 67th).

Meanwhile, Cahokia lost to Mt. Vernon at home by a 61-43 margin on Friday.

Carbondale will need to focus on slowing down Cornelius Griffin, one of several Cahokia players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 13 points. Griffin is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Donta Cary was another key player, putting up seven points and five assists.

Carbondale's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Cahokia, their loss dropped their record down to 9-18.

Carbondale strolled past Cahokia in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a score of 55-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carbondale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
