Volleyball Recap: Benjamin Takes a Loss

After flying high against Park Vista on Wednesday, Benjamin came back down to earth. The Buccaneers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saint Andrew's Scots on Thursday. The Buccaneers haven't had much luck with the Scots recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 22-25, 25-15, 25-22.

Emma Markin paced Benjamin's offense, picking up 12 kills. Markin got some help from Riley McCaughey and her 26 assists. McCaughey was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Benjamin's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Saint Andrew's, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Benjamin will square off against North Broward Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Saint Andrew's, they will challenge Calvary Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
