After both having extra time off, the Uintah Utes and the Timpanogos Timberwolves will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Uintah is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Uintah was able to grind out a solid victory over Springville, taking the game 8-5.
Lynlee Hall made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. Hall was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kynlee Bristol, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Rylee Miller was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
Uintah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in nine consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Timpanogos waltzed into their contest last Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They blew past the Bruins 20-9. The result was nothing new for the Timberwolves, who have now won eight games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Kale'a Nakayama was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kaleah Sao, who scored four runs while going 3-for-3.
Uintah has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Timpanogos, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Uintah hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .375. However, it's not like Timpanogos struggles in that department as they've averaged .437. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Uintah was able to grind out a solid win over Timpanogos in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 16-13. Do the Utes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Timberwolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
