Softball Recap: Fonda-Fultonville Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Fonda-Fultonville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Canajoharie Cougars on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Valley Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Taylre Watterson and Harper Huckans did most of the damage at the plate: Watterson went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Huckans went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Huckans has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Fonda-Fultonville lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory got Fonda-Fultonville back to even at 3-3. As for Canajoharie, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fonda-Fultonville will face off against Gloversville at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Canajoharie, they will take on Batavia at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday.
