Basketball Game Preview: Loveland Tigers vs. West Clermont Wolves

The Loveland Tigers will challenge the West Clermont Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Loveland is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Kings just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights.

Despite the loss, Loveland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aunna Dancy dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Dancy a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ryann Unruh, who posted ten points and seven assists.

Even though they lost, Loveland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

West Clermont has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 54-45 to Walnut Hills on Monday.

Loveland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for West Clermont, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-4.

Loveland lost to West Clermont at home by a decisive 63-49 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of West Clermont's Layla Hale, who went 11 of 19 on her way to 28 points and seven rebounds.
