Volleyball Recap: Autumn Terrance Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat First Baptist Christian

John Paul the Great Academy hadn't done well against First Baptist Christian recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Guardians walked away with a 3-1 win over the Eagles. For the Guardians, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

John Paul the Great Academy was especially dominant in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 17-25, 25-17, 25-8.

John Paul the Great Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Autumn Terrance, who had seven aces and five kills. Another player making a difference was Therese Friddell, who had 14 kills and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: John Paul the Great Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

The victory got John Paul the Great Academy back to even at 2-2. As for First Baptist Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
