Basketball Recap: Lake Region Christian Comes Up Short

Lake Region Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 53-32 to Chisago Lakes Baptist. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Despite the defeat, Lake Region Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aleah DeVries posted seven points and five steals. DeVries has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Blair Alquist, who had five points and four steals.

Lake Region Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Chisago Lakes Baptist, their win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Region Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cambridge Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Chisago Lakes Baptist, they will square off against St. Francis Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
