Softball Recap: Rhinelander Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Rhinelander's offense. They lost 6-0 to the Whitnall Falcons on Friday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Hodags were not able to get on the board.

Aleece Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Rhinelander's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Whitnall, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Rhinelander will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Northland Pines at 5:00 p.m. As for Whitnall, they will square off against Lake Mills at 12:20 p.m. on Saturday.
