Softball Game Preview: Marionville Comets vs. Sarcoxie Bears

The Marionville Comets will head out to face off against the Sarcoxie Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Marionville has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Marionville after they put the first run on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Strafford, falling 15-2. The Comets haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Marionville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Holder, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Sarcoxie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Miller.

Marionville now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Sarcoxie, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Marionville couldn't quite finish off Sarcoxie when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
