Baseball Game Preview: Cochranton Cardinals vs. Cambridge Springs Devils

The Cochranton Cardinals are taking a road trip to challenge the Cambridge Springs Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Cochranton nor Maplewood made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Cardinals fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-4. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bradyen Burnette was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Gavin Moore also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Cambridge Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Saegertown, falling 17-1.

Cambridge Springs' loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Cochranton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Cochranton took their win against Cambridge Springs in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
