Softball Recap: Ridgewood Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Ridgewood proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 12) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Buckeye Trail Warriors. Winning may never get old, but the Generals sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Addison Lahmers made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Ridgewood pushed their record up to 11-5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Buckeye Trail, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Coming up, Ridgewood will head out to square off against Tuscarawas Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something the Generals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Buckeye Trail, they will be playing at home against Malvern at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.13 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
