The Scholars Guild Academy Spartans will face off against the Covington Academy Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Scholars Guild Academy will be strutting in after a win while Covington Academy will be coming in after a loss.
On Thursday, everything went Scholars Guild Academy's way against Creekside Christian Academy as Scholars Guild Academy made off with a 10-1 victory. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Noelle Boeckman and Madison Kenny made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Boeckman tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Kenny didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. At the plate, Boeckman scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Kenny scored two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Sidney Minor was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerrigan Welch, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Scholars Guild Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Creekside Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .208.
Meanwhile, Covington Academy lost 15-3 to Skipstone Academy on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.
Peyton Ledoux was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.
Covington Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Scholars Guild Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Everything went Scholars Guild Academy's way against Covington Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Scholars Guild Academy made off with a 9-2 win.
