Basketball Game Preview: Silver Lake Mustangs vs. Shelton Bulldogs

Silver Lake hasn't had much luck against Shelton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Silver Lake Mustangs will face off against the Shelton Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Shelton will be up against a hot Silver Lake team: the squad just extended their winning streak to seven. Everything went Silver Lake's way against Meridian on Friday as Silver Lake made off with a 49-27 win. Silver Lake pushed the score to 45-22 by the end of the third, a deficit Meridian cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Shelton against Harvard on Friday as the squad secured a 66-4 victory. That looming 66-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Silver Lake better keep an eye on Ben Myers. He was instrumental in Shelton's win, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. They are 11-3 when Myers posts ten or more boards, but 3-4 otherwise. Reilly Jensen was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Shelton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since the start of last season.

Silver Lake's record now sits at 16-5. As for Shelton, their record now sits at 14-7.
