Baseball Recap: Halfway Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Halfway hadn't done well against New Covenant Academy recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cardinals blew past the Warriors 14-8. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 15 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Halfway is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for New Covenant Academy, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-10.

Coming up, Halfway will head out on the road to square off against Hermitage at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cardinals are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for New Covenant Academy, they will welcome Skyline at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
