6A District 8 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Lafayette and Bryan Station played the most hotly contested game in 6A District 8 this week, with Lafayette eventually emerging with a 33-29 victory. Kylan Nelson ran for 141 yards and caught four passes for 77 yards in the win.
Madison Central took down Henry Clay 44-24 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Generals' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tranard Chester helped Lafayette's passing attack out by catching two balls for 49 yards.
Garrett Peavler threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns. He went 12-23 with two interceptions.
Lafayette's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Generals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Peavler has thrown for 1459 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Chester has 24 catches for 473 yards. Nelson leads the league in rushing with 621 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Indians take on Tates Creek. Madison Central is in first place, while the Commodores are in third place.
Bert Browne's team led 6A District 8 in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on the Blue Devils.
