Soccer Game Preview: Plant vs. Bloomingdale

The Plant Panthers will square off against the Bloomingdale Bulls at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Bloomingdale heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Plant took over last week. Plant narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Robinson 2-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bloomingdale). Their defense stepped up to hand Spoto an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bulls, who have now won five matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Spoto from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Sophia Maxwell led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Bloomingdale's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those four contests. As for Plant, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.

Plant beat Bloomingdale 2-0 when the teams last played back in January. Does Plant have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bloomingdale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
