Baseball Recap: Grandfield Comes Up Short

Grandfield managed to slip by Waurika the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Grandfield lost 11-5 to Waurika on Monday. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Grandfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zavey Davis, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Davis has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Cooper Henson was another, scoring a run and stealing three bases.

Grandfield has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. With the victory, Waurika broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Grandfield will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cyril at 6:00 p.m. on the 10th. As for Waurika, they will face off against Thackerville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
