Softball Recap: Cowan Blackhawks vs. Southern Wells Raiders
It's playoff time, and Cowan had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Southern Wells Raiders on Monday. The Blackhawks haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Savannah Bowling made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Candice Matson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylor Young, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.

Cowan's record is now 8-15. As for Southern Wells, they moved to 5-20 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Looking ahead, Cowan will challenge North Miami at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southern Wells does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
