Baseball Recap: Norris City-Omaha-Enfield Comes Up Short

Norris City-Omaha-Enfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Hardin County Cougars, falling 20-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-3 back in April.

Conner Graves and Javan Garrett stepped up to the plate in a big way. Graves went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Garrett went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Sexton, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Norris City-Omaha-Enfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Hardin County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norris City-Omaha-Enfield will take on Eldorado at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Fighting Cardinals are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Hardin County, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Union County at 4:30 p.m. on the 13th.
