Softball Recap: Wellington Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Wellington came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Greeley Central Wildcats get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Wellington got a massive performance out of Kensley Story, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-2. That's the most home runs Story has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauryn Neal, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.

Wellington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in three consecutive games.

Wellington's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Greeley Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
