Basketball Recap: Honesdale Takes a Loss

Honesdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-61 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lakeland Chiefs. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chiefs earlier this season, when they won 62-50.

Lakeland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Kopa, who went 5 of 10 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Chase Rosenkrans, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 17 points.

Honesdale's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Lakeland, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-11 record.

Honesdale has already played their next contest (against Western Wayne), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lakeland will look to defend their home court on Friday against Old Forge at 6:45 p.m. Lakeland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
