Volleyball Recap: Ladysmith Comes Up Short

Ladysmith was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Barron Golden Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lumberjacks of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-7, 25-16.

Barron found their leader in sophomore Xendra Jilek, who had eight digs and three aces.

Ladysmith's defeat dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Barron, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

Ladysmith wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against McDonell Central on the 4th. As for Barron, they are taking a road trip to take on Hayward at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
