Basketball Recap: Braham Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Braham can now relate to. They lost 84-64 to the Upsala Cardinals on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bombers have suffered since March 9, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Braham lost, don't look at Tyler Eklund. Despite the final result, he posted 33 points and six assists. Eklund's evening made it 17 games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Soren Lilly, who shot 54% from the field en route to 15 points and five rebounds.

Upsala's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samuel Laliberte led the charge by going 10-for-15 from beyond the arc on his way to 34 points. The dominant performance gave Laliberte a new career-high in points. Jack Primus was another key player, almost dropping a triple-double with 19 points, ten boards, and nine assists.

The defeat snapped Braham's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 22-7 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.0 points over those games. As for Upsala, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-6.

As of now, neither Braham nor Upsala have any future games scheduled.
