Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lamar). They had just enough and edged out the Mansfield Tigers 8-7. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 5-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The victory made it two in a row for Lamar and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Mansfield, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.

Coming up, Lamar will face off against Perryville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 11.9 runs per game this season. As for Mansfield, they will take on Acorn at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
