Basketball Game Preview: Mayer Wildcats vs. Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind Sentinels

The Mayer Wildcats will square off against the Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Mayer and three for Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind.

Last Wednesday, Mayer ended up a good deal behind Mogollon and lost 49-35.

Meanwhile, Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Dishchii'bikoh an easy 69-46 victory.

Despite the defeat, Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind saw an underclassman step up: freshman Irving Arizmendi posted 23 points and five rebounds. That was a full 50% of Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zephianh Little, who earned 14 points and four steals.

Mayer's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
